I’m back in the Kootenays this fall for a six-week dance residency at Slava Doval DanceFusion in Nelson. Through Wednesday lunch grooves, Sunday special workshops and studio research, I’m exploring what Afrikan social dance and music can teach us about belonging, purpose and tenderness. Come move, drum, chant and connect — everyone is welcome, no experience needed.
◆ Join the email listWhere do men practise belonging, purpose and tenderness together — and what can Bend Skin, Ndombolo and Amapiano show us about it? Each week of the residency explores this question in the body, through three social dance and music traditions.
